Can consciousness change the world? My sense is that consciousness alone cannot. Consciousness with action can. Consciousness alone, for me, is a manifestation of privilege. There are some people who don’t have the privilege to sit and meditate in a day — they’re trying to miss ricocheting bullets. They are single mothers trying to take care of their children. They are probably just like you in this room. We have the luxury to sit still in a quiet, peaceful place and meditate, and this is a form of privilege. To me, it’s not completely enlightened consciousness if it only stays inward. I believe complete consciousness manifests in a way where we cannot only be still. There is a drive within our hearts and within our spirits that says: manifest a world where this consciousness is available for all people – where consciousness is not just a word or a thought but that it’s an action.
