Refusing to Play their Game

It started with the loggers. Then with the security men. They taunted me. And at times, they were very vicious. But I kept remembering the unconditional love I felt in the tree, the unconditional love from the earth. And in those times when they were being especially vile and mean, I prayed, and this prose came to me:

Fear and anger makes us captive
We become pawns in the select few’s game
Love frees us to take a stand against the destruction and the oppression

Only then can we realize the mastery of their game
Lies simply in refusing to play

And “their” is anybody who uses negative energy to control us and manipulate us; the way they use fear as a way to make us march in their lines and do what they say; the way they use anger for us to attack each other so that they can stay free and clear. And so, yes we have these feelings. But when you learn to find love, and to focus on love and positive light, it gives you the ability to break free of their chains. And that’s the only time you can win. You quit playing by their game. Because as long as you play by their game, they make the rules, they’ll always win. But when you learn to let go of that, it gives you the strength to do what’s right, and you can make a difference on every level imaginable.

Hi Julia … I’m rereading your original book on Luna and discovering all the more in its fascinating, inspirational pages. You had actually sent me a complimentary, signed copy in response to our post card communications from when you’d held vigil in Luna’s branches. As a published novelist, my latest work in development engages the spirits of nature in a telling fashion and represents the best I have to offer on behalf of helping encourage people to more fully appreciate the natural world. It is adapted from a screenplay I had written some time ago and nearly made it into production. It will now find literary life as a novel, and I would love permission to dedicate it to you and all you’ve done to make this planet more respectable and decent. I hope you’ll respond favorably because I respect your life’s work even more as I reread “The Legacy of Luna.”
