“We often live our lives backwards. We focus on βthe doingβ before the being. We tend to focus on, βwhat am I supposed to do?, or βwhat should I do? β This is why I go first to the being then to the doing. And this is why I ask, βwhat’s your tree?β: If you uncover and clarify your symbolic tree β what your core purpose of being is β then you know your core purpose of being, and it never changes. When you know your core purpose, it doesn’t mean that you’re stuck in a jail, it just means you are so authentically you it’s just not going to change — it is the essence of who you are. Everything else changes β that’s an essential part of life. But the essence, the seed of who we are is still there, even when we become a tree. With a tree, the essence, the seed, is still there, we just don’t recognize it as the tree. The tree is the way we are expressing our core being.β
